Berry Hibiscus Protein Refresher

 Berry Hibiscus Protein Refresher

Step 1: Brew the Hibiscus Tea

  • Bring 8 cups of water to a boil.
  • Remove from the heat and add the hibiscus tea bags (or dried hibiscus flowers).
  • Steep for 10–15 minutes.
  • Remove the tea bags or strain out the flowers.
  • Allow the tea to cool completely.

Step 2: Mix the Protein

  • Pour about 1 cup of the cooled tea into a shaker bottle.
  • Add the protein powder and shake until completely dissolved.
  • This helps prevent clumps.

Step 3: Assemble the Drink

  • Pour the remaining cooled tea into a large pitcher or beverage dispenser.
  • Stir in the dissolved protein mixture.
  • Add the remaining 8 cups of cold water.

Step 4: Add the Fruit

  • Stir in the sliced strawberries, blueberries, lemon slices, and lime slices.
  • Add the sweetener if desired and mix well.

Step 5: Chill

  • Refrigerate for 2–4 hours to allow the fruit to infuse the drink with flavor.

Step 6: Serve

  • Fill glasses with ice.
  • Pour the refresher over the ice, making sure to include some of the fruit in each serving.
  • Stir before serving if the protein settles.

Tips

  • Use whey protein isolate for the highest protein with the fewest calories and carbohydrates.
  • Add fresh mint leaves for an extra refreshing flavor.
  • Frozen berries work well and help keep the drink cold.
  • Store covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Stir or shake before serving if separation occurs.
