Maple Bacon Cheeseburger Quesadillas
Step 3: Assemble the Quesadillas
Place the tortillas on a clean work surface. Sprinkle a generous amount of shredded cheese over one half of each tortilla. The first layer of cheese acts like glue and helps hold the filling together.
Spoon the beef and bacon mixture evenly over the cheese layer. Add any optional toppings such as sliced pickles, caramelized onions, or a light drizzle of mustard. Finish with another layer of cheese before folding the tortillas in half.
This second layer of cheese helps create the signature melty interior that makes quesadillas so satisfying.
Step 4: Cook Until Golden
Heat a large skillet over medium heat and lightly coat it with butter or cooking spray. Once hot, carefully place a quesadilla in the pan.
Cook for 2 to 3 minutes, or until the bottom develops a deep golden-brown color and becomes crispy. Flip carefully using a wide spatula and cook the second side until equally crisp and the cheese has completely melted.
Repeat with the remaining quesadillas, adding more butter as needed between batches.
Step 5: Rest and Serve
Transfer the cooked quesadillas to a cutting board and allow them to rest for one minute before slicing. This brief resting period helps the cheese set slightly, making the quesadillas easier to cut and serve.
Slice each quesadilla into wedges and serve immediately while hot and melty.
